Graduated per-unit pricing, per service

Every unit is billed at the rate of the band it falls in, counting that service's units in the month. Sign, watermark, fingerprint and verify are metered separately.

One unit is

Sign
One signed file, whatever its type or size
Watermark
One image, whatever its size, or one started second of video or audio
Fingerprint
One image, whatever its size, or one started second of video or audio
Verify
One verification

Worked example

25,000 signed files in one month:

  • 10,000 × $0.015 = $150.00
  • 15,000 × $0.010 = $150.00

Usage $300.00, plus the $99.00 platform fee: $399.00 for the month.

What a month costs at volume

Signing only, the platform fee included, from the rates above. The more you sign, the less each file costs.

Signed files a monthMonth, all inPer file
10,000$249.00$0.0249
100,000$1,149.00$0.0115
1,000,000$5,649.00$0.0056

What counts as a unit

A started second counts as a whole second, so 12.5 seconds of audio is 13 units. There is no resolution band, frame-rate multiplier or audio minimum. The rate table above lists what one unit is for each service and works through an example from the same rates.

Which services a job uses

The request decides. A sign-only job is billed for signing alone.

CAWG identity keys

An identity key names an individual or an organisation in Content Credentials, using the Creator Assertions Working Group identity assertion. Coming soon — available once the identity certificate is enrolled. Contact us to register interest. Indicative prices: individual $99 a year, organisation $199 a year. Until it ships, a request that asks for an identity is refused rather than signed without it.

Pricing questions

What does the $99 platform fee include?

Access to the signing, watermarking and fingerprinting APIs, the verification API, the console, API keys and webhooks. It includes no processing units. Usage is billed per unit on top.

Do I pay for watermarking if I only sign?

No. Each service is metered separately and only the services a job runs are counted. The default request signs with C2PA only.

How does graduated pricing work?

Each service counts its own units in the month. The first 10,000 units cost $0.015 each, units 10,001 to 100,000 cost $0.010, units 100,001 to 1,000,000 cost $0.005, and every unit after that costs $0.0025. Verification follows the same bands at a tenth of the price.

Do failed or cancelled jobs cost anything?

No. Processing is recorded only when a job publishes successfully. Failed, cancelled and not-yet-published work has no processing charge, and a retried publication cannot charge twice.

How do I estimate a job before I run it?

Call POST /v1/billing/quotes with the operation, the media family and the duration. A quote cannot know your volume so far this month, so it prices every unit at the first band, the most a unit can cost.

How do I start?

Create an account and an API key in the console, then talk to us to start your platform subscription. Self-serve checkout for this pricing is not available yet.

Which rates apply to my account?

The catalog version your account is enrolled on. A job keeps the rates it was admitted under, and a new catalog never changes jobs that were already admitted.
